The Red5 'RV6' condenser microphone

Well, it arrived 'overnight' from Scotland, and all in all, it's a very impressive microphone. I just couldn't resist a quick tryout (before breakfast) - and initial impressions are - " only Fifty Quid ? "

Big solid mic, free shockmount ( and an ordinary one as well) , case, and humoungous great foam cover - that'll stay in the case. Standard XLR connector - needs phantom power, but the M-Audio UCB pre-amp/mixer supplies that. The initial (hurried) test suffers from 'bell-boom', but that's easily fixed - I'm so used to crowding a normal mic. It's only downside (that I can see so far) is that it is so sensitive it picks up quiet background noises, something none of the other 'stage' mics suffered from, easily sorted.

Here's my old Martin C revisited (it was closest to hand...)
