G.A.S. in the C-mel world

I ponied up for a nickel (not black nickel) Aquilasax a couple days ago, and wouldn't you know it, the black nickel horn with the Welsh dragon finally went up on eBay. Oh well, on further reflection (meaning better pictures), I'm not at all sure I like the dragon engraving. I chose a phoenix engraving, as it seems apropos for an instrument that is trying to rise from the ashes.

Then I saw the SOTW thread about Drake ceramic mouthpieces and listened to some of the sound clips. A tenor "Contemporary" model should be on the way tomorrow. Of course it's primarily going to see service on the C-mel, unless it does spectacular things on tenor and NOT on C-mel. Now if only I had the chops to do it justice like a number of the passaround testers did -- in particular their fluency in tenorese. Surely you know of this dialect, as spoken by just about every contemporary tenor player starting with Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson. I never learned to speak it. :(
